Cindy McCain, wife of Republican presidential candidate John McCain, has created a firestorm of interest in rhinestone pins with patriotic and military themes, as has the Republican vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin. Mrs. McCain has two sons who serve in the military, one in the United States Marine Corps and the other in the Navy, while Palin's son serves in the Army. When contacted by representatives of The View for samples of pins that might be worn by Mrs. McCain, company founder and president Donna Nakagiri readily agreed. Blue Star Service Lapel Pin."
A service lapel pin is a small rectangular pin that only family of military servicemembers may wear during times of conflict. Mrs. McCain often wears hers with one or more rhinestone pins.

Blue Star Service Pin," Nakagiri said. "We were delighted to help them make the model demonstrating Mrs. McCain's fashion style as authentic as possible. Without the patriotic bling and the Service Pin, it just wouldn't have been in keeping with Mrs. McCain's style."
The model was adorned with the service star lapel pin and a beautiful
rhinestone American Flag pin that glittered in the studio lights.
According to Nakagiri the show has increased sales of the pins. "All of the
military rhinestone pins we carry are selling at a frantic pace. That is true of the military and patriotic themed rhinestone pins and even extends to those that are enamel. We just can't keep enough of them in stock." Nakagiri added, "With the Marine Corps Ball coming up and Christmas not far behind, we are seeing phenomenal sales of all our pins. They are the perfect gift for the wives and mothers of those who serve."
Asked whether the company will come out with new designs to complement their existing selection of pins Nakagiri said "we are already working with our suppliers and the manufacturers to get some additional designs out before Christmas." She added that she expects these to be very popular through Valentine's Day as well as special holidays that are just for the military, such as Military Spouse Day and Armed Forces Day. "And, of course, there's Mother's Day, too. We expect that these pins will be extremely popular for all those holidays."
