Career Step is pleased to announce that it will be offering half a million dollars worth of scholarships for graduating high school seniors, mothers returning to school, and military service members and their dependents in 2015.

PROVO, UT, February 05, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Career Step, an online provider of career-focused education and corporate training, is pleased to announce that it will be offering half a million dollars worth of scholarships in 2015. Scholarships will be offered for graduating high school seniors, mothers returning to school, and military service members and their dependents.

"Education is one of the best ways to improve lives," said Career Step CEO Steve Tober. "We firmly believe in the power of education and are committed to providing resources to students everywhere as these students pursue the training they need to improve themselves and build better lives. We are continuing and expanding our scholarship program in 2015 as it provides us the opportunity to support education beyond our own students, graduates and partners."

Career Step will be offering a variety of scholarship opportunities throughout 2015. Specific awards will be offered for one graduating high school senior from each of the 153 schools on the list of approved Utah high schools, one graduating senior from a national audience, three mothers returning to school, and two military service members or military dependents. Schools on the list of approved Utah high schools include public, charter and alternative institutions, and individual awards will range from $2,000 to $2,995.

To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must submit a short essay on why pursuing additional education is important to them and how they will use it to benefit their families and communities. In addition, students must meet the specific criteria of their individual award.

"Education makes positive differences for individuals, families, communities, and the economy as a whole," said Career Step Vice President of Academics Jerolyn Robertson. "Through our scholarship program, we are able to encourage and support education whether students are pursuing career training through schools like Career Step, which can be completed in a year or less, or a longer-term degree program through a college or university."

Application deadlines vary, but the first awards--one for a mother returning to school and one for a military service member or dependant--will close in April. Information on all of Career Step's 2015 scholarships is available at CareerStep.com/scholarships.
