Career Step Announces Winner of 2014 Graduating High School Senior Scholarship

Career Step is proud to announce that the winner of its 2014 Graduating High School Senior scholarship is Victoria Stano, who will receive $2,000 toward the pursuit of higher education.

PROVO, UT, January 07, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Career Step, an online provider of career-focused education and corporate training, is proud to announce that the winner of its 2014 Graduating High School Senior scholarship is Victoria Stano. Ms. Stano will receive $2,000 toward the pursuit of higher education, which she will be applying toward Career Step's Professional Medical Coding and Billing ICD-9/10 program.

"This scholarship is the only reason I am able to afford to take the course," said Ms. Stano. "Money is slim in my household so I have been working full time since tenth grade while also completing high school online. This scholarship will make it possible for me to start a great career an eventually move out on my own."

Ms. Stano was selected through a lengthy review process from among numerous applicants. She graduated this past spring from an online high school program and is confident that her experience working full time while finishing her high school career has left her well prepared to continue working as she trains through Career Step. Ms. Stano is interested in the medical coding and billing field because she's noticed a high number of posted positions in her area and believes the career will allow her to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

"We are thrilled about our scholarship program because it allows us to help students like Ms. Stano who want nothing more than to improve their lives through education but cannot afford it despite our programs' low tuition," said Career Step CEO Steve Tober. "Education is one of the best ways to improve your life, and we are privileged to be a part of the process for our scholarship winners. We congratulate Ms. Stano and wish her the best as she is beginning her training."

Career Step established its graduating high school senior scholarship as a way to support education on a broader level and particularly encourage education among young adults. Though Career Step's programs are an excellent fit for students looking for a quicker path into the workforce than a traditional two- or four-year degree, the scholarship provides $2,000 toward higher education at the winner's institution of choice.

Career Step offers a number of scholarship awards, including one for mothers returning to school and an award specifically for graduating high school seniors in Career Step's home state of Utah. More information is available and applications can be submitted at CareerStep.com/scholarships.
