/24-7PressRelease/ -- The Carlsbad Department of Development (CDOD) is pleased to announce that Petsense, a nationally branded pet-supply chain, is coming to Carlsbad. The retailer has announced the Carlsbad location on their website and is currently preparing for a future opening.
"We are pleased to see this come to fruition," said Jeff Campbell, marketing director for the CDOD. "We met with Petsense over a year ago and put them in touch with a property owner here in Carlsbad. It took some time, obviously, but it looks like things are paying off and they will be here soon."
Petsense focuses on bringing their products to rural markets. The Carlsbad store will mark the company's fifth location in New Mexico, with other stores planned in the state as well. Petsense was founded in 2005 and has been aggressively expanding into rural markets.
"Carlsbad is growing. Site selectors from various retailers, restaurant chains, and industries have been taking notice of the positive direction in which our market is moving," said Campbell. "We have a lot to offer, and a strong economy that never slowed down, even during the recent hard times faced across the nation."
Petsense in Carlsbad will be located at 902 W. Pierce Street in the Riverwalk Centre.
