Carol Siler Emmett Named a VIP Member of Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Nursing

    OCALA, FL, April 3, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Carol Siler Emmett, Retired Registered Nurse, was recently named a VIP of the Year by Worldwide Who's Who. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.

Ms. Emmett is a true coal miner's daughter, the 13th child of parents born in 1888. Growing up, she developed an interest in the field of health care because her mother was a midwife. Deciding that nursing was the correct path for her, she became a registered nurse and went to school for the first 30 years of her career in order to keep up with the constant changes within the health care field. She also honed her expertise in alternative medicines. Now retired, Ms. Emmett celebrates a rewarding career that spanned more than four decades. For the last 10 years, she worked as a physician's liaison.

Ms. Emmett atributes her success to her mother, who always told her, "You can do and be anything you want to be." Today, Ms. Emmett splits her time between Ohio and Florida. She is a volunteer bailiff at Marion County Courthouse and a member of the Ocala Royal Dames, PEO Sisterhood and American Nurses Association. In 2005, she was named Woman of the Year by the American Biographical Institute. Ms. Emmett intends to continue enjoying her retirement and devote her free time to helping people in her community. All things considered, she considers being a mother of four professional children to be her greatest achievement.
