PHILADELPHIA, PA, July 21, 2010
/24-7PressRelease/ -- On Thursday, September 23rd, The Beer School of Philadelphia will welcome Carol Stoudt of Stoudt's Brewing Company (2800 North Reading Road, Adamstown Pa. 19501-717-484-4386) to its new educational series, "Brewer's Night at the Philly Beer School."
Stoudt's Brewing Company opened its doors in 1987 and was one of the first microbreweries in Pennsylvania. Carol Stoudt and her husband Ed previously owned and managed The Beer Garden, in Adamstown, where they also hosted the popular local Gemutlitleikit Beer Festival. During the 1970s, the Stoudts began brewing their own beer and, when its popularity skyrocketed, turned their fermentation skills into a full-time venture.
Now known as "The Queen Of Hops," Carol Stoudt has perfected the making of German beer varietals by adhering closely to their special origins and ingredients. With medal winning ales and lagers under their belt, local German Beer Hall Brauhaus Schmitz (718 South St. 267-909-8814) tapped the Stoudts to design and produce their "HausBrau," which you can only find at the well-known South Street establishment.
"Brewer's Nights" - The Beer School's newest addition of educational classes - highlight local brewers and their award-winning beers. During these special seminars, you'll get to meet the minds behind local favorites, as well as drink limited release brews from private cellars. To sign up, visit http://www.thebeerschool.com.
The Beer School is located at 2008 Fairmount Avenue in Philadelphia. To set up a time to speak to Founder Keith Wallace, please contact the School's press office at 1-800-817-7351 x30, or email press@thebeerschool.com.
