OXNARD, CA, September 29, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles is proud to name Carole Lee Dean a Lifetime Achiever. An accomplished listee, Ms. Dean celebrates many years of experience in business and in non-profit fundraising for independent filmmakers, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

The independent film explosion in the 1970's owes a great deal to Ms. Dean's love of movies and business savvy. Growing up in Texas, she dreamed of Hollywood and being involved in the film industry. Moving to Los Angeles and marrying a cinematographer, she noticed the mountains of unused leftover scraps of motion picture film stock at the end of film shoots.

She called them "short ends", bought them back from the film companies when they wrapped, and starting selling them at deep discounts to new film and indie filmmakers. She created not only an industry, but an opportunity for filmmakers like John Casavettes and Roger Corman to be able to afford film stock and get their projects made. Her company, Studio Film & Tape, by 2000 had offices in Hollywood, New York, and Chicago. It was one of the largest privately woman owned businesses in the United States.

In 1992, after witnessing how difficult it was for so many talented indie filmmakers to find funding, she founded and became president of the 501(c)3 non-profit, From the Heart Productions. Its mission is to educate filmmakers on how to raise money for their films and to help them get their projects funded.

At From The Heart Productions, she created the Roy W. Dean Grant. Named in honor of her father, the grant is awarded 3 times a year to a filmmaker with a unique project that contributes to society. Now in its 25th year, the Roy W. Dean Grant is a combination of cash and donated production services from leading Hollywood companies and professionals. It has contributed to the creation of many excellent films that, without the grant's assistance, may have never been made.

Pioneering the use of fiscal sponsorship for filmmakers, From the Heart Productions gave a new tool to filmmakers to raise funds. Under fiscal sponsorship, donors get tax deductions for their donations. It has helped filmmakers raise millions of dollars for their projects through her non-profit. Also offered through From the Heart productions, Ms. Dean's Intentional Filmmaking Class offers filmmakers lessons on how to raise and make best use of those funds for their films.

Ms. Dean believes in using the power of your mind to manifest success in life and in business. She has created many videos and authored books teaching filmmakers and others how to manifest their goals and improve their health. A member of the National Arts Club, she was the producer and host of Health Styles from 1994 to 1997 which had one of the first on air interviews with Deepak Chopra. She is the author in 1999 of "Heal Thyself", "The Art of Film Funding: Alternative Financing Concepts" in 2003, and "The Art of Manifesting: Creating Your Future" in 2005.

For her work, Ms. Dean received a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Women in Film and Television International in 2013 and an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. She has been named in several editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Carole Lee Dean has been featured on the Marquis Who's Who Lifetime Achievers website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
