YARDLEY, PA, January 24, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to name Carolyn Cardall Newsom, PhD, JD, a Lifetime Achiever. An accomplished listee, Dr. Newsom celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

With 45 years of experience in her industry, Dr. Newsom has devoted much of her career to being a leader in the field of business management, though her expertise is only the tip of the iceberg in a life full of achievements. In 2012, she became a bar-certified lawyer at the age of 71, and currently practices from her law firm of Newsom Law with a focus on estate planning. Dr. Newsom has changed careers before, and was once a systems engineer for IBM. "As skills got stale or jobs became boring, I reinvented myself," she said in an interview in 2012. "This proves that it is never too late to go back to school."

Dr. Newsom was born in 1941, in South Weymouth, Massachusetts, to Alfred James and Bertha Virginia Cardall. She earned an AB from the prestigious Brown University in 1962, and was married in 1967. She was a systems engineer with Newsom Systems Engineering Services in Seattle while raising two boys. In 1978, Dr. Newsom reinvented herself with an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and worked as an instructor there while earning a PhD in applied economics from the University of Pennsylvania. She went on to join the PA Consultant Group and rose from consultant to vice president of the Information Strategy Practice.

In 1988, Dr. Newsom left the PA Consultant Group to become president of her own company. Newsom Associates in Yardley, Pennsylvania operated for one year before Dr. Newsom joined Business Strategy Implementation in Princeton, New Jersey. In 1990, she became president at Strategy Implementation Solutions in Yardley, Pennsylvania. Over the course of her management consulting career, she worked with such giants as Johnson & Johnson, Mobil Oil, Coca Cola, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

In 2008, ready for new challenges and encouraged by both her husband and two sons, Dr. Newsom entered the Delaware Law School at Widener University where she joined a study group of women over 40 who called themselves the Ladies Justice after the traditional representation of justice as a blindfolded woman. In 2012 she earned a JD, and established Newsom Law.

Notably, she has volunteered her legal services pro bono for the Wills For Heroes project with the Pennsylvania Bar Association, writing wills, financial powers of attorney and healthcare directives for first responders. Dr. Newsom was in the north tower of the World Trade Center on the morning of 9/11, and has a special appreciation for the people who helped keep her safe. In 2013, Dr. Newsom received a certification in estate planning from the Temple University School of Law, and focuses her practice in this quickly growing area.

Dr. Newsom has also been a volunteer with the Buck County Health Improvement Partnership since 2014, among many civic roles working with local hospitals and community organizations to promote advance healthcare planning. She has served as secretary of the board for the Gordonstown America Foundation, a trustee of St. Mary Hospital in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, board director of Chandler Hall, and President of the Brown Alumni Association.

In recognition of her leadership, she served as an examiner with the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award from 2003 to 2005, as well as an examiner and judge of the New Jersey Performance Excellence Award from 2003 to 2006. Dr. Newsom was selected for inclusion in numerous volumes of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who of American Women, two volumes of Who's Who in the East from 1991 to 1994, and the 2004 to 2005 volume of Who's Who in Finance and Business.

On a personal note, she enjoys spending time with her sons and three grandsons.
