The nonprofit organization is committed to serving individuals with barriers to employment through counseling, training and job placement services.

Throughout 2008-2009, CWS served 1,024 individuals with physical, developmental and mental disabilities, the highest volume in the organization's history. CWS has developed on-site training opportunities, partnered with Kroger stores to develop retail and grocery training programs and was named Organization of the Year by the North Carolina Rehabilitation Association (NCRA), Chapter III.
