MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO, March 01, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With the Marlies season coming to a close in April, time is running out to see Toronto's beloved AHL team hit the ice at the Ricoh Coliseum. From March 3rd - March 10th, the Marlies have three home games giving fans the opportunity to see them in action.
The Marlies rarely disappoint and are currently leading the North Division with 66 points, followed by the Lake Eerie Monsters with 56. Toronto's team also presently holds the second place title in the Western Conference following the Oklahoma City Barons who are proceeding with first place and 71 points. With the Marlies' constant success this season, there's no doubt in any fan's mind that they can close the gap and nab the primary position within the Conference.
At home, the Marlies will be consecutively facing the Rochester Americans (Saturday March 3rd at 5pm), the Bingham Senators (Wednesday March 7th at 11am) and the Hamilton Bulldogs (Saturday March 10th at 3pm).
This will be the Marlies and Americans 7th match-up this season, with the Marlies winning five of the six games, each with very close scores. Playing against the Senators only once previously, the Marlies beat them in a close 3-2 game. The Bulldogs, however, is the only team to put up a bit more of a fight in the seven games they've played with the Marlies. Winning four of them, the Bulldogs prove to be real competition in individual games.
