Celebrating Its Place at the Epicenter of Creative Transformation, Woodbury University Unveils New Online Presence

Top-to-bottom website revamp places accent on innovation, accessibility.

LOS ANGELES, CA, December 03, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Showcasing its online presence as a gateway to the university experience, Woodbury University today unveiled a comprehensive website overhaul that conveys a richly detailed portrait of the venerable Southern California institution.

As the new site reminds students, Woodbury offers a unique experience that is educational, communal and personal: "This journey is intellectually exciting, and one in which you will grow in your chosen profession, make friends for life, and ultimately obtain the tools to achieve your goals and bring your dreams to life." Organized around the themes "California Creativity, ""Engage," "Transform" and "Innovate," the site was designed by the Los Angeles firm Hair Interactive and is administered by a university website committee.

"The new website celebrates our Southern California locations and communicates that we are at the epicenter of innovative creative transformation," said Dr. David Steele-Figueredo, Woodbury University President. "It conveys our 132-year history, and the benefits of the student experience at Woodbury: student engagement, transformative experience, and innovative thinking. With more than 20 practice-based, fully-accredited professional and liberal arts undergraduate and graduate majors, Woodbury is a non-profit institution dedicated to the student experience."

"In a world of visual noise, our goal was to simplify both the design and conveyance of information," said Sue Vessella Interim Dean of the School of Media, Culture & Design. "The site is contemporary, clean, and visually appealing, with an intuitive user-friendly navigation, faster load time, and improved search function."

Initial feedback has been universally enthusiastic. Said one member of the Woodbury community, "the new site will open the Woodbury door for prospective students very effectively and be an invaluable resource center for the existing university community. Overall, I like the speed and ease of access to pertinent information." Added another: "This is the best version of Woodbury.edu I have seen. It's clean, fast and easy to navigate. The website committee did us proud."

As a living repository of all things Woodbury, the online presence makes it a snap to access information on all 19 undergraduate and 7 graduate programs across the university's School of Architecture, School of Business, School of Media, Culture & Design, and College of Liberal Arts. Visitors can tap into a wealth of university resources, including the Agency for Civic Engagement, the Julius Shulman Institute, the Center for Leadership, the Fashion Study Collection and the WUHO Gallery, among others. The site is a one-stop shop for such essentials as a comprehensive course catalog, the academic calendar, high school summer programs and WISE, the innovative Woodbury Integrated Student Experience.

Designed for prospective students, active students, former students and the networks that support them in Burbank/L.A. and San Diego, the site is the place to go for definitive information on undergraduate and graduate admissions, transfers, tuition and fees, financial aid, scholarships, assistance for veterans and international students.
