GRANDVILLE, MI, October 26, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- This years Highland Uproar Music Challenge received over 300 entries from around the world each judged by an independent music panel with the best 12 put forward to the grand final. Celestial Souls were one of only 4 Scottish bands to make the final cut and after weeks of online voting the duo finished an impressive fourth.

Celestial Souls are East Kilbride brothers Norman and David Robb who are now hoping to take their ambient beats to a wider global audience after reaching the final of the Highland radio contest.

The self-taught musicians who draw inspiration from the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Boards of Canada and Mogwai, are one of only four Scottish bands who made it to the final of the Highland Uproar Music Challenge. Following a rigorous judging process, the talented EK pair's atmospheric track 'Lost in Time' was selected among twelve finalists from more than 300 entries.

Celestial Soul's latest track, set to feature on the band's forthcoming EP, was put to a listener's vote on the Cuillin FM website and finished an impressive 4th.

Interviewed for an article in the East Kilbride News, Norman said: "We were very surprised to be picked but really pleased as the prize would give us the chance to reach people all over the world. "We're a wee bit different from what's already out there, and are trying to create a new ambient feel to the indie scene as opposed to following the established sounds already out there. "Hopefully, if we do well from this competition, we can capitalise on the success." Following the competition the band have confirmed an impressive response from new fans and an increasing upturn in song plays from their Soundcloud page.
