CEO and Veteran Marketer Christina Motley Tapped as Keynote Speaker for Wake County, NC SGA Leadership Conference

    RALEIGH, NC, January 21, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Christina Motley, a successful serial entrepreneur and Chief Marketing Officer-on-Demand, will deliver the keynote address "Keys to Effective Leadership" at the Student Government Association leadership conference at Wakefield High School January 23, 2014. The symposium brings together some 35-45 officers elected by their respective high school student population in Wake County North Carolina.

"I am honored to be chosen to share my experience and aid in the development of our country's next generation of leaders," said Motley. She went on to say, "I agree with Marcus Buckingham that there is a key difference between leadership and management. A manager, according to Buckingham, 'is the individual on a team who ensures deadlines are met and projects are completed, while a leader inspires team members to push themselves to achieve greatness and surpass their goals.'"

Prior to Ms. Motley's one hour interactive presentation, each attendee will complete a leadership focused DiSC assessment. DiSC stands for Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Consciousness. Once completed the DiSC profiles will help the SGA officers to be more self-knowledgeable, well-rounded and effective leaders.

According to Emily Scales, a career technical education (CTE) teacher and advisor for the SGA Exec Council at Wakefield High, Motley was chosen as the keynote speaker for the conference "because of her character and leadership ability. As a successful and multiple business owner and member of the National Speakers Association, we knew Ms. Motley would weave her message on leadership into our program in a memorable, practical and fun way."

Founded in 1999, Wakefield High School is one of the top public high schools in the country. US News' Best High Schools National Rankings Report awarded a silver medal to Wakefield based on state proficiency standards and how well they prepare students for college. Only 7% of 21,000 public high schools in the US met the standards for the silver award.
