/24-7PressRelease/ - BINGHAMTON, NY, January 31, 2007 - Planning to stop smoking but never have been successful. Now good new for people those who are trying hard to stop their smoking habit. A new drug on the market, called Chantix, can help.

Chantix helps to reduce cravings, said Dr. John Bosh. It blocks the spots in the brain nicotine attaches to and make smoker not want to smoke," said Dr. Anne Abraham.

In clinical trail of more than 2,000 smokers, Chantix has a higher success rate than other stop-smoking drugs available in the market from many decades, Dr. Salomon said. Like any other medicine, Chantix has a few mild side effects, said Paul D'souza. "It can cause nausea in a number of patients," Sam said. "That is its major side effect. It does not interact with other medications that we know of, so it is very safe."

Chantix recently approved by the Food and drug Investigation, is the first anti-smoking pill approved by the Food and Drug Administration in nearly a decade. It is only available in the market with prescription of doctor.

A recent study has shown Chantix pill has been most popular in the market as compared to any other pills because of its good result, said Peter John. It has helped many people to leave their smoking habit without any harm or side effect, Said Julie Joseph.

The chemical on which Chantix is based, varenicline, stimulates those receptors to release a little dopamine, thus reducing nicotine -withdrawal symptoms. Chantix blocks the receptors from absorbing nicotine, making smoking less satisfying and that's why the Chantix user don't feel like smoking all the time as a result smoking habit can be controlled with the help of Chantix, said Dr Alvin Gomes.

By year's end roughly 4 out of 5 participants were smoking again, but among those who managed to quit, varenicline proved one and a half time as effective as buproption, which was twice effective as the placebo.
