The Chapel of Christ the King is a small, inner city mission parish of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina located in Optimist Park, just outside of uptown Charlotte. The Chapel's support from other churches and organizations is critical to keeping the doors open to children at risk in the optimist park, Villa Heights and Belmont communities. The Chapel of Christ the King touches the lives of people daily in the basic ways- food, clothing, shelter and faith. Although the Chapel of Christ the King has been changing people's lives for over a century, the mission is to become a "model holistic mission in Word and Deed".
