Charities Win Big at Inaugural Central Florida Event

The Victory Cup Initiative aids ten local charities with training and over $42,000 in donations.

ORLANDO, FL, January 23, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A new nonprofit is changing the face of philanthropic investing for Central Florida. The Victory Cup Initiative, a unique event designed to provide charitable organizations with the opportunity to tell their stories and enhance their donor base, is taking place on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the Winter Park Community Center. The breakfast event will award one first place winner with $20,000, and second place with $10,000 and third place with $5,000. All other participating charities receive $1,000.

Victory Cup is raising awareness, and celebrating, the diversity of nonprofit efforts and accomplishments in our community. Devised as the ultimate goodwill event, Victory Cup is not only awarding over $42,000 and donating 100% of additional event proceeds, but also equipping 10 Central Florida nonprofits with the skills and training to best tell their story.

This breakfast event brings members of the Central Florida community together to actively engage in philanthropy while 10 Central Florida nonprofits tell their story in three minutes or less. After the presentations, the audience votes for the first, second and third place winners that will receive cash prizes of $20,000, $10,000 and $5,000 respectively. Every individual in attendance has the opportunity to vote and will be entertained with Orlando Sentinel columnist Scott Maxwell as event emcee. In addition, each non-profit receives a $1,000 participation grant.

Charitable organizations were invited to apply via an application on the Victory Cup Initiative website. After receiving over 80 responses, a panel of judges narrowed the selection down to 10 finalists. Those organizations are: Kids House of Seminole; Seniors First, Inc.; Agua Viva Serves, Inc.; Adult Literacy League, Inc.; City Year Orlando; Seminole County Legal Aide, Inc.; Central Florida Community Arts; International Fringe Festival of Central Florida, Inc.; Christian HELP; and Children's Home Society of Central Florida - The Faine House. Each organization was required to send three of their administrators to an exclusive storytelling workshop lead by Rick Stone earlier this month. The four-hour workshop introduced these nonprofits to the art of storytelling and educated them on how it can help them develop effective relationships with potential donors, as well as sway competition jurors.

Event sponsorships, corporate tables and individual tickets are still available. For more information, visit victorycupinitiative.com or contact Victory Cup founder Ashley Vann. Prices will increase after January 15th.
