Charles Bryan Streaker, Sr. Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Environmentally Conscious Farming
Press Release February 25, 2009
Mr. Streaker, who has a long history of farming, now works as a field assistant where he strives to implement integrated pest management techniques, known as IPM.

Westminster, MD, February 25, 2009, Charles Bryan Streaker, Sr., Field Assistant for Larriland Farms and Owner of Cedarlane Farms, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of environmentally conscious farming.

No stranger to cultivating land, Mr. Streaker has a long history of farming. Presently, he works as a field assistant at Larriland Farm where he strives to implement integrated pest management, otherwise known as IPM. This process uses environmentally friendly pest control to keep infestation below an acceptable level with little or no impact on the natural ecosystem of the farm. By using disease-resistant crop varieties, limited pesticides, a sanitary environment, and enriched soil, Mr. Streaker is able to yield safe, high quality crops. Additionally, he helps enforce environmental and cultural controls while adhering to strict seasonal timelines. In this respect, Larriland Farm's opening day is determined by the ripening of the strawberries in late May or early June. The farm offers various seasonal activities including a straw maze, The Boo Barn, pumpkin hayrides, and a strawberry maze.

Prior to joining Larriland Farms, Mr. Streaker worked in sales for 10 years at Westminster Tractor Supply that provided him with a greater understanding of agricultural tools and devices. As the owner of Cedarland Farms, he streamlined the 70-acre property from raising cattle to harvesting corn and hay. The net result was an environmentally sound and lucrative operation. He served the Maryland Farm Bureau as a consultant to the Board of Directors, reporting on breaking agricultural news - while there he was awarded with two Silver Star Pins for service on international policy.

A member of the Maryland Farm Bureau and former director of the Howard County Farm Bureau, Mr. Streaker received a Bachelor of Science in Dairy Technology with a minor in business from the University of Maryland College of Agriculture and Natural Resources in 1967. He has undergone pesticide and chemical training through the Maryland Health Department and the United States Air Force and completed numerous Maryland State Health Department training courses.
