Dave Ruyts served in the U.S. Navy for 10 years, and his last tour of duty brought them to Charleston. After thinking about the long, cold winters of their former state of residence, the Ruyts family decided to stay and enjoy the beautiful South Carolina weather permanently. They have lived in Charleston now, for over 25 years.
The Ruyts' purchased a Janitorial Franchise from a different commercial cleaning company in the Charleston area in the mid-1990s and operated it until 2004. Through hard work and dedication, they employed over 30 and serviced over 20 clients. Dave and Dory personally trained each of their employees, teaching them how to work as a team, rather than just as individuals. They serviced all types of accounts - from small office space to multi-tenant office buildings and manufacturing facilities. Due to the customer service, quality controls and cleaning standards they required of their employees, they became the largest Franchisee in South Carolina for the former company.
After selling their franchise, they tried several other business ventures, but their dream was to own and operate a Master Franchise, and use all the skills they had learned through the years.
