CHARLOTTE, NC, May 24, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Charlotte, N.C. - Charlotte School of Law is partnering with the largest law firm in the Asian-Pacific region to provide a comprehensive educational program in U.S. law for Chinese lawyers. The venture with Beijing-based Yinkge Law Firm, is in collaboration with U.S. Legal and iLaw Ventures.

"It represents a breakthrough in how American and Chinese legal institutions have interacted with each other and demonstrates Charlotte School of Law's commitment to becoming an innovative leader in legal education that prepares students to be practice-ready."
The Yingke Law Firm is the largest law firm in the Asian-Pacific region, with 2,400 lawyers on four continents and in 10 major commercial regions around the world. The partnership with Charlotte School of Law will provide lawyers based in China with substantive training in core and specialized legal areas, including United States business law, and will qualify lawyers to take the bar examination in certain states.
"Charlotte School of Law has recently implemented an innovative new curriculum for its J.D. and LL.M. students, built on extensive investment in learning science, the needs of employers, the experience of its faculty in delivering strong learning outcomes and strong practice competencies," said Charlotte School of Law's Dean Jay Conison. "The faculty of the school make extensive use of learning technology platforms to support the delivery of their courses. Charlotte Law's innovative curriculum will be adapted to the particular needs of Chinese lawyers."
U.S. Legal and iLawVentures will provide technology innovations that will enable Chinese lawyers to take courses online, with the potential for in-person education. Charlotte School of Law will be responsible for the academic program, while Yingke and U.S. Legal will be responsible for marketing and business development.

The joint venture will commence in Summer 2014. It will provide internship and employment opportunities for students and expand the school's relationship established earlier this year with U. S. Legal. The venture also is intended to create opportunities for networking and collaboration between North Carolina firms and businesses and their counterparts in China.
