CHARLOTTE, NC, May 24, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Charlotte, N.C. - Charlotte School of Law is partnering with the largest law firm in the Asian-Pacific region to provide a comprehensive educational program in U.S. law for Chinese lawyers. The venture with Beijing-based Yinkge Law Firm, is in collaboration with U.S. Legal and iLaw Ventures.

"This partnership between Chinese and American legal institutions is unprecedented in scope, scale, and potential," said Donald Lively, President of Charlotte School of Law. "It represents a breakthrough in how American and Chinese legal institutions have interacted with each other and demonstrates Charlotte School of Law's commitment to becoming an innovative leader in legal education that prepares students to be practice-ready."

The Yingke Law Firm is the largest law firm in the Asian-Pacific region, with 2,400 lawyers on four continents and in 10 major commercial regions around the world. Charlotte Law's innovative curriculum will be adapted to the particular needs of Chinese lawyers."

U.S. Legal and iLawVentures will provide technology innovations that will enable Chinese lawyers to take courses online, with the potential for in-person education. Charlotte School of Law will be responsible for the academic program, while Yingke and U.S. Legal will be responsible for marketing and business development.

"The Yingke law firm is pleased to partner with the Charlotte School of Law, and we are committed both to its students and to providing a course of study that adds practical value to a lawyer's career," said Linda Yang, Global Partner - Director and Global Partner, Yingke Law Firm.

The joint venture will commence in Summer 2014. It will provide internship and employment opportunities for students and expand the school's relationship established earlier this year with U. S. Legal. The venture also is intended to create opportunities for networking and collaboration between North Carolina firms and businesses and their counterparts in China.
