Chef Point Cafe, are running a contest that's certain to delight Dallas-Fort Worth comfort food fans.
"We're inviting folks to share their best comfort food recipe and win a spot on Chef Point Cafe's new 'Comfort Food Sundays' menu, a $50 Chef Point gift certificate and recognition on the restaurant's
Facebook page," said Paula Nwaeze, the Fort Worth restaurant's business manager.
The winning recipe will become the featured dish on a new Sunday menu that will also showcase Chef Franson's unique interpretations of classic home-cooked comfort foods. The unique upscale eatery located inside a Conoco gas station C-store will start offering the new menu every Sunday from 10 am to 8 pm on Aug. 24, 2009.
"It's been great fun resurrecting a few favorites of mine like pot roast, meat loaf and oven backed macaroni and cheese as well as creating some special dishes for our new Sunday menu," said Franson. "I love to experiment and to try new recipes, so I think I'm really going to like judging the recipe contest," noted the chef.
"Comfort food is such a staple in this part of Texas, and every good cook knows a comfort food recipe or two," said Franson. "I'm sure we'll get quite a few superb recipes and find the one that will complete our new menu," stated Franson.
