/24-7PressRelease/ -- The Chelsea Groton Foundation has awarded a $2,500 grant to the Child Adoption Resource Association to support Project Connecticut's Child. The funds will be used to evaluate families to adopt children from the state foster care system.
Kerri Charette, Family Recruiter for Child Adoption Resource Association, accepted the Chelsea Groton Foundation's grant with delight. "Chelsea Groton Savings Bank, through the benevolence of the Foundation, will enable CARA to reach out to New London County individuals, couples, and families to ask them to consider adopting a child from Connecticut State foster care. Recruiting forever families is the goal of Project Connecticut's Child and this grant money will enable our agency to raise awareness concerning the great need for adoptive families among New London County residents."
CARA is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3), licensed, child-placing agency committed to finding families for children in need of adoptive placement. CARA helps with the adoption of children from the foster care system, domestically, and internationally. CARA provides home studies and educational training for all types of adoption, counsels pregnant women considering placing children for adoption, and supports post-adoptive families.

The Chelsea Groton Foundation was established in June of 1999 with a two million dollar donation from the bank.
