Chemtronics Introduces Tri-V High Performance Cleaners to Replace Toxic Industrial Solvents

Safer solutions without sacrificing cleaning performance

Because of all the pressures from OSHA and other agencies, the time is right to evaluate Tri-V, a safer solution to industrial cleaning.

ATLANTA, GA, July 15, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Chemtronics, a supplier of high quality cleaners, coatings, and electronic rework tools, has introduced Tri-V High Performance Cleaners to replace toxic chemicals like n-propyl bromide (nPB) and trichloroethylene (TCE).

Chemtronics Tri-V High Performance Solvents offer safer solutions, without sacrificing cleaning performance, and increasing cost. Tri-V is nonflammable, so can be used on energized equipment, penetrates to clean hard to reach areas, evaporates quickly and leaves no residues.

Aerosol and bulk packaging is available for benchtop cleaning, immersion cleaning, or in a vapor degreaser. Tri-V is stabilized and safe for metals such as aluminum, magnesium, titanium, and brass.

Electro-Wash Tri-V Precision Cleaner is a nonflammable cleaner that quickly removes flux, grease, oils, dirt, dust, and other contaminants from electronic components and assemblies.

Max-Kleen Tri-V removes of all types of soils including oxidized oil and grease from motors and relays. It is the ideal solvent for most electronic and electrical applications.

Flux-Off Tri-V Flux Remover is an extra-strength nonflammable solvent that removes heavy encrusted flux deposits common after circuit board assembly. It is effective on a wide variety of fluxes, including R, RA, RMA, and synthetic fluxes.

nPB is under close scrutiny by local and national government officials and health and safety managers because of safety concerns. Studies have shown that exposure to nPB can cause negative neurological and reproductive effects. The National Toxicology Program (NTP) has stated that nPB is "reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen", based on increased cancers observed in animal studies. OSHA has issued a Hazard Alert detailing worker safety concerns. The American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) recommends a 10 ppm time-weighted average threshold limit, but has proposed a lower 0.1 ppm (ACGIH 2013).

Steve Cook, Chemtronics Technology Director, stated: "Because of all the pressures from OSHA and other agencies, the time is right to evaluate Tri-V, a safer solution to industrial cleaning."
