/24-7PressRelease/ - Grand Prairie, TX, August 27, 2008, Chenella Elaine Priest, Special Education Teacher at Arlington Independent School District, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in special education.

Ms. Priest was born in India and spent her childhood days in the streets of Calcutta where she was mentored by Mother Teresa. After living with a family in India that did not want her, she was adopted by a family in the United States through a missionary. Following the career path of her parents, she realized her potential and decided to become an educator. Prior to attaining her current position, she was a social worker for 10 years until she felt she could help juvenile delinquents and first offenders before they get to the detention programs.

At her current post, Ms. Priest is responsible for teaching special education. She won the coca-cola/NRC recycling bin grant and received her Bachelor of Science in Social Psychology and Criminal Justice from Dallas Baptist University. She served as the president of the Parent-Teacher Association and is a member of the Texas Classroom Teachers Association. She attributes her success to the support she receives from her family and aspires to obtain a master's degree in education administration and become a principal in the future.
