- Chicago, IL, July 19, 2008, Cherie L. Barnes, Clinical Therapist, has been recognized by
Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of counseling.
Ms. Barnes specializes in counseling, assisting clients and overseeing treatment plans. She feels that the most vital aspect of her work is treating elevated stress levels among adolescents, and considers publishing an article on the subject, "Outreach Intervention Reduces Recidivism in Juvenile Delinquents," with the American Counseling Association to be the highlight of her career so far. She attributes her success to her hard work and determination.
A National Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor, Ms. Barnes earned her Master of Arts in Community Counseling from Chicago State University in 2006 and her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Southern Illinois University in 1997. Additionally, she is an assistant instructor for the Order of the Eastern Star and is a member of the Illinois Counseling Association, the American Counseling Association and the Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society. She stays current with the trends in her profession by enrolling in continuing education courses and attending seminars and conferences. She intends to pursue her Ph.D.
