Widowed by the Iraq war, Cheryl D. Lankford suddenly found herself an heiress to an inheritance left to her by her husband. Spurred by a desire to honor her husband's memory, she established Lankford Land Development, a commercial and residential land development company that focuses primarily on creating affordable housing. Utilizing her PR and marketing savvy, she scouts different properties through the Internet, auctions, newspapers and courts, plans strategies, and oversees the development of land for residences, apartments and shopping malls. Ms. Lankford derives deep personal fulfillment from using her resources to aid the homeless and help people build a future for themselves and their families. She attributes her success to the support that she receives from her mentors and the people around her.

Ms. Lankford recently enrolled in Trump University. In addition to her work for Lankford Land Development, she volunteers regularly with local orphanages, Place for Life, Rebuild America, and Habitat for Humanity.
