/24-7PressRelease/ -- McDavid Inc. - the world's leading provider of sports medical products and protective performance apparel - is building alliances with USA Team Handball in a grassroots effort to grow the game of team handball in the United States. America's biggest team handball event yet, set for Saturday, July 17, marks the kickoff of this Chicago-based initiative.
"This exhibition is to show the United States what team handball is all about," McDavid Marketing Director Rey Corpuz said. "Part of the grassroots effort includes working within high school systems to field a USA team for 2016. We're starting now to ensure these kids get the experience they need to compete at the Olympic level. We think there will be a lot of excitement generated from this weekend's events."
The main attraction will be the face-off between international powerhouses Poland and Germany, who are known rivals and ranked fourth and fifth in the world respectively. The event will also feature the U.S. television debut of the USA men's national team.
"McDavid is the official supplier for the German national team and so we wanted to do something special to show our support and appreciation," McDavid VP Terry Fee said. "Overall, we are glad to be working with USA Team Handball in growing interest and participation in the sport."
The event will be televised in nine major market areas in the U.S. and also in Germany in Poland. The USA game starts at 11:05 a.m. (CDT). At 1:05 p.m. (CDT), Poland will take on Germany. To find a complete list of broadcast air times, visit http://www.usateamhandball.org.
