- PALOS HILLS, IL, March 03, 2009 - Lee Group International's Guangdong China manufacturing facility was named today '2007 Gold Standard Manufacturer' by Carlyle Associates, an industry research group. Most of the center's manufacturing is OEM/ODM work for U.S. companies drawn by competitive prices, well-educated workers, state-of-the-art facilities, and a fanatical dedication to intellectual property rights protection. Lee Group's U.S. representative took the opportunity to challenge U.S. outsourcers to find a better partner in China than Lee Group.
The award is presented annually to the facility that keeps costs low while investing substantial amounts in future development. This year, Lee Group will add 4 million square feet to its 15 million square foot production center. Generators and a water filtration plant ensure production is not interrupted by local shortfalls. Workers living in company housing can now source all their day-to-day supplies at company-subsidized shops. There is an estimated six-month waiting list for assembly line positions.
Carlyle's Michael Conroy could find little lacking in Lee Group's approach to production challenges. 'They are the standard-bearers for how to make a product right,' he said.
