KNOXVILLE, TN, June 11, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/
-- ChoiceSpine, a Knoxville, TN based spine company, announced today that it has received U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance for the BLACKBIRD Posterior Cervical Spinal System. The BLACKBIRD Spinal System was designed by a surgeon panel with the goal of improving upon current designs available in the market, simplifying instrumentation, and improving patient outcomes.
On June 10, 2014 the BLACKBIRD Spinal System will be available to a select group of physicians to evaluate and provide feedback on the system. A full market launch of the system is planned for 4th quarter 2014.
Key features of the system include
- 70 degree of non-biased polyaxial screw angulation
- Dovetail set screw design
- Easy to use instrumentation
Anderson Collins, Director of Business Development commented, "The BLACKBIRD Posterior Cervical System is the first of 7 systems we are launching in the next 12 months. This system is the result of a lot of hard work between our internal team, distributor partners, and physician partners. We are extremely excited about the BLACKBIRD Posterior Cervical Spinal System and the growth potential that our company receives from having this offering available to our distributors."
Marty Altshuler and Rick Henson, ChoiceSpine Principals, are very excited about the new system. "With the all of the new systems we are currently working on, we expect that 2014 will prove to be a tremendous year for ChoiceSpine. BLACKBIRD is the first stepping stone for a very busy and exciting year. Our internal team and distributor partners have worked extremely hard to foster the growth of ChoiceSpine, and we are continuing to add systems to meet the needs of the market," said Henson.
Altshuler commented on how thankful he is to have such a strong distributor base and internal support team. "We are working hard to add new products so that ChoiceSpine is our distributors' first choice when it comes to product offering. The BLACKBIRD Posterior Cervical Spinal System will be extremely competitive in the market offering 70 degree of angulation without needing a biased or favored angle. We would not be such a strong company without the commitment from our distribution partners," he added.
