whychristmas.com the Christmas Information website, is celebrating 10 years online during Christmas 2010. The site gives information on Christmas traditions, Christmas around the world, the Christmas Story and there's Christmas fun.

The site was started in November 2000 by James Cooper, a Christmas loving web designer from Somerset, UK. This family friendly website provides information on range a of festive subjects such as the origin of Christmas traditions and customs including Christmas cards, festive foods, the Star of Bethlehem and Santa Claus. There is also information on how Christmas is celebrated in different countries around the world; the background and history of the Christmas Story and there's lots of Christmas Fun. You can decorate an online Christmas tree, try some Christmas quizzes and puzzles, learn how to say Merry Christmas in over 70 languages and there is an annual advent calendar, which is also on the social networking site Twitter. During December 2009 www.whychristmas.com had nearly three million hits with visitors to the site coming from over 200 countries. One elementary school teacher emailed the site stating, "As a teacher it has been a Godsend to utilize as a resource in the classroom. I tell every teacher I see about your awesome work. We visit the site everyday during our Christmas Around the World Unit and discover something new and invaluable! Keep up the excellent work! I would give you an A+++." 

When asked about the site, its creator James Cooper, said: "I love running the site and helping people all over the world get into the Christmas spirit. It has amazed me how the site has grown over the years, to become one of largest Christmas information resources on the web. To celebrate the site's 10th birthday I've launched two new sites, a site designed for mobile devices at http://nativityapp.com and a Christmas karaoke site at: http://tistheseasonto.be/."
