Cincinnati's Coney Island Announces International Firework Teams For Spectacular Fire Up the Night V Event

Fireworks' teams from Greece, the Philippines and South Africa will compete for international bragging rights Sept. 24 at Cincinnati's legendary amusement park

CINCINNATI, OH, August 19, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The 2016 international competition DOES NOT end with the conclusion of the Olympic Games in Rio.

Cincinnati's Coney Island today announced that three countries - Greece, the Philippines and South Africa -- will be taking center stage on September 24 competing head-to-head against one another at the heritage amusement park in an event certain to cause, well... fireworks.

This international fireworks competition, called Fire Up the Night V, is the only such international fireworks' competition in the USA. The event has become an end-of-summer fan favorite throughout the Midwest.

This spectacular display of fireworks is not your usual experience. Stunning palm bursts, spiders, whizzers, screechers, brocades and splitting comets will fire up the night over Coney Island, with a five-judge panel and the public evaluating the presentations and selecting a winner. Each show will be judged on such things as presentation, structure and scale, colors, originality and music synchronization.

Following the international competition, Cincinnati's acclaimed Rozzi Famous Fireworks will fire up the night in a thundering fireworks' finale that will shake the banks of the Ohio River. Rozzi is also the event producer.

The Greek contingent is represented by Nanos Fireworks Greece, a company with a four-generation heritage of fireworks' expertise. Representing the Philippines is Dragon Fireworks Inc., the first-ever licensed pyrotechnic manufacturer in the Philippines, and from Johannesburg, South Africa is Fireworks for Africa, started in 1996 and already the winner of numerous fireworks' display awards.

Admission for Fire Up The Night V is $25.00 per car and includes parking, Coney's classic rides, entry to an incredible "empty-pool" party, live stage entertainment and colorful hot air balloons. Carload pricing applies to standard vehicles only. Admission is $5.00 per person walk-in and for those arriving by RV, bus or passenger van. Gates open at 4 p.m., fireworks begin at 8:30 p.m.

Coney Island, now in its remarkable 130th year of family entertainment, is located at 6201 Kellogg Ave., exit 72 off I-275, 10 miles east of downtown Cincinnati. More information: (513) 232-8230. www.coneyislandpark.com.

Nestled along the banks of the Ohio River, 10 miles east of downtown Cincinnati, beautiful Coney Island Amusement Park is a true legend in its own time with roots dating back to 1886. From swimming in the famous and massive Sunlite Pool (the largest swimming pool in North America, nearly the size of two football fields), to more than two dozen classic family fun rides, great live stage shows, paddleboats and canoes on 12-acre Lake Como, a unique 18-hole miniature golf course, gorgeous landscaping and more, Cincinnati Coney Island has it all.
