/24-7PressRelease/ -- 23 % more space (6250 sq.m.), 11 % more exhibitors (157) and 6 % more visitors than two years ago - cinec's success in the year 2008 was overwhelming. "We are thrilled about this year's Trade Fair for Motion Picture Technology. The feedback we received by visitors and exhibitors was over all very positive", Angelika Albrecht, the organizer of the fair, said happily. The show kicked off brilliantly on Saturday - and ended with the festive presentation of the cinecAwards in Munich's ancient Old Town Hall in the evening. It was hosted by the City of Munich. On Sunday the halls were buzzing of activity, on Monday cinec was brought to a relaxed end. Good strokes of business, high appraisal from visitors and exhibitors and an often-heard „see you next time" when leaving showed: cinec 2008 had worked out perfectly.
The main subject at the fair was once again camera technology, but also the field of lighting offered numerous and various innovations - four cinecAwards were awarded in this category in consequence.
A lot of exhibitors of the branches camera support/grip, equipment and accessories, dollies, tracks, cranes, services and new technologies for 3D were present at the cinec as well and impressed the attendees with new products.
But cinec is not only well-known in Europe: Registrations from all continents, visitors from 58 nations and a multi-lingual atmosphere in the halls of M,O,C, gave proof of the fair's attraction for professional visitors from all over the world.
Even the Bavarian State Minister, Eberhard Sinner, visited the cinec to receive information on the latest trends and innovations. He was impressed by cinec's high standard and stated: "I am delighted to have this growing fair in Munich."
There was also enough room for education at the cinec: The booth of the Center for Advanced Studies of Film Technology at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF) and the International Film-, TV- and Music-Academy (IFFMA) introduced possibilities for further education, at HFF's camera set film equipment could be tested "hands-on". During its information day "Reality beyond cinematographic romance" the MediaCampus Bavaria discussed the world of film for young cinematographers, the association of film professionals "Die Filmschaffenden" offered job-related advice.
At the stand of the Cluster audiovisual Media (CAM) interested students and cinematographers could learn about events and the supporting (net-)work of the Cluster for the film industry.
