Clarke Auction Gallery Announces Holiday Auction Sunday December 9 2007 2:00 pm

The year's last auction highlights a massive 19th C. onyx and champleve clock, fine jewelry including a 2 ct diamond ring, gold Israeli and American historic coins and medals, sterling silver, a Steinway baby grand, Mid-Century Modern, an 19th C. American chest, and fine and decorative arts.



    /24-7PressRelease/ - LARCHMONT, NY, December 03, 2007 - This final auction of 2007 features a massive 52" high 19th Century onyx and champleve clock as well as a fine 2 carat diamond and platinum ring. Other jewelry includes rings, 18K chains and a 14K heavy gold charm bracelet as well as a Men's Patek Philippe watch in good running condition.

Also highlighted is a large collection of investment quality coins and historic medals. Israeli commemorative coins include mint platinum, gold and silver sets. Gold British, French, Swiss, Italian and Mexican coins are also offered in addition to American and international silver coins.

Of special interest is a collection of historic 19th Century medals and memorabilia including mid-19th century American trade awards, a Harvard Hasty Pudding Club silver script-inscribed medal, a c.1899 Admiral Dewey pinback, an Erie Canal wooden box, an 1860 Lincoln-Hamlin ferrotype frame and a Boer Transvaal Kruger-DeWet folding knife.

Mid-Century Modern highlights include Finn Juhl, Paul McCobb, Danish Modern including Pedersen and a Christensen-Larsen 1959 dining set, chandeliers and lighting, and a Gorham 'star' pattern sterling service.

Traditional lots to include the Steinway baby grand, a 19th C. American chest, 19th C. dining chairs, a Stickley table, heavy wrought-iron Arts and Crafts stands, massive cannon-forn brass andirons, 19th Century Italian and French ormolu and giltwood tables and consoles.

A large assortment of Sterling Silver includes two complete matching sets of S. Kirk, each service for 12, an ornate old Gorham service, pairs of candelabra, platters, coasters, salts and peppers, and serving pieces.
