    LARCHMONT, NY, December 01, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On Sunday, December 5th at 2:00 pm, Clarke Auction's Holiday Sale will feature 400+ lots drawn from estates on Sutton Place, Park Avenue, and Gramercy Park as well as Larchmont, Princeton, Scarsdale and Greenwich estates.

Antique highlights include two French Empire Secretaires a Abattant with Bronze Sphinxes; an 18th Provencal Commode; an English Regency Rosewood Desk, Lap Desk, and Bagatelle on Stand on Stand; and Period American Pembroke Tables and Sheraton Chests.

Chandeliers and lighting examples are a pair of large Baccarat, a major collection of over twenty Art Deco pendants and chandeliers, a pair of Meissen Cobalt and Gilt Urn-Form Lamps with serpent-handles; a Louis XV-Style Giltwood Floor Lamp, a large Moorcroft table lamp, a pair of Brandt-style Iron Floor Lamps, and a pair of Celadon Lamps with Carved Pagoda Tops.

This auction also includes an exceptional collection of Midcentury Modern Design lighting including three pieces by Gino Sarfatti for ArteLuce - two standing floor lamps and a chandelier; a vintage Sputnik, and a Robsjohn-Gibbings Tripod Round Floor Lamp.

Of special interest is a collection of nautical memorabilia and Americana including wooden ships and pond boats, a 19th C. telescope and dry card compass, ephemera such as 19th C. sailor's discharge and temperance papers dated to the early 19th C., and framed paper bank notes including Confederate money.

Fine Art from local estates includes works by Istvan Pekary, Avni Arbas, Komar and Melamid, C.S. Price, Neil Williams, Elmyr De Hory, Joseph Thors, Gustavo Novoa, C.H.H. Burleigh, William Stanfield, a L.J.Skelton Pikes Peak oil; a Jeanne Laurence oil of Denali; James King Bonnar, oils by Theodore F. Wolff, Walter III Cade, an 18th C. French Still Life; Old Masters; two Henri Joseph Harpignes ink wash studies, oils by Ladislav Hlavka and Josef Silhavy, a 1918 Secessionist drawing by Ferdinand Zerlacher. an 1819 American portrait signed Robinson; Prints by Matta, Harry Sternberg, and Associated American Artists. Signed bronzes include a Henry Etienne Dumaige "La Source" and a 1911 life-sized bronze bust of a French poet .

Good Traditional Furniture Includes a painted KittingerArt Deco Bedroom Suite from the home of a famous actor; a Baker Inlaid Pembroke table; a Baker Mahogany Banded Twin Pedestal Dining Table; Sixteen Bamboo-Form Dining Chairs including a set of eight by Smith and Watson; and Beacon Hill endtables.

Midcentury Modern also includes a Modernist Stone Veneer & Glass Triangular Coffee Table; a rare Karl Springer Flip Top Console Table; a Fornasetti-style reverse-painted coffee table, a Knoll Saarinen-style Marbletop Table, an Illum Weikkelso chair; a pair of Widdicomb chests, large decorative mirrors, and fine quality Midcentury pieces yet to be identified.

Decorative Arts examples are a collection of bronze and brass oil lamps, two signed miniatures of French queens; Five French 19th Century Bronze Medallions Depicting Historic Figures; Antique Italian Pottery, a Kosta Glass Vase by Vicke Lindstarnd, Meissen figures, Baccarat and Waterford Stemware, and a Christian Dior "Casablanca" Porcelain Service.
