LARCHMONT, NY, April 11, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On Sunday, April 18th at 2:00 pm, Clarke Auction will sell over 450 lots just consigned from local estates as well as the second phase of an estate stored unseen since the late 1970s.

Silver highlights include the massive seven piece Cartier .950 Silver Coffee and Tea Service including a 30" by 20" Heavy Tray; Reed and Barton Francis I Sterling Service; a heavy Tiffany Bowl, and other silver being catalogued as this goes to press. The Cartier Tea and Coffee .950 Silver Service weighs approximately 19 pounds gross on a standard scale.

Antique and Traditional Furniture Highlights start with a Flint and Horner Secretary, an antique Bulkey and Gay Server, a 19th C. J. Smith Stool, a Hunt Table, a 19th C. Bowfront Chest, a raised-panel Victorian Oak Bookcase and other Victorian pieces. Of special interest to interior designers is a collection of mint French and Italian carved and marble-topped decorative furniture removed from local storage.

Fine art features a quartet of G.D. Leslie oils, a pair of Horace Vernet military scenes, the Miguel Berrocal Puzzle Bronze, a Silvered or Chromed Art Deco Figural Group by Otto Hofner, a 19th C. Continental Oil, Venetian scenes by Lorenzo Rizzi, a Francis Flint watercolor, Box Lots of Decorative American Oil Paintings, and two Old Masters just consigned.

Unusual Metalwork includes a pair of French Brass Candelabra Coatstands, several 19th C. American Cast-Iron Benchs, a French Brass Etagere, a French Brass Coatstand, a French Bronze Rococo Sign, Iron Hall Trees and Demilunes, Decorative Iron Brackets, a Gothic Armorial Plaque, and Iron Torchieres.

Americana highlights are a vintage Merchantman Arcade Digger and two 19th C. Indian Peace Medals, an 1862 Lincoln and an 1871 Grant. The Lincoln Medal is considered by experts to be one of the finest medals minted in American history.

Decorative Arts are led by the collection of 220 Royal Doulton Figurines, being sold in lots of three to eight pieces each; Baccarat Crystal, a large Van Briggle Honey Bears Vase; a Ruskin vase, the Beswick "Alice" series, and china from Herend, Lenox, Royal Crown Derby (Chinese Birds), Nast a Paris, Aynsley, Belleek, Royal Worcester and the modernist Rosenthal Studio Line. In addition, a second estate provided 200 Royal Doulton Toby Mugs along with their six custom-made stained glass and oak cases.

Midcentury Modern Design is highlighted by a collection of James Mont furniture and accessories, de Sede leather seating, a Rosewood Console, Domus, Lucite pieces, a Donald Deskey vanity and bench, a pair of Harvey Probber armchairs, and other pieces being catalogued this week.

Carpets include palace-sized semi-antique Sarouks and Kirmans, runners, and room-sized rugs.

We're now two-thirds through the Jersey estate, but we've also emptied a Pleasantville estate packed away in 1994 with its 220 Doulton figurines, Baccarat, Sterling and more," said Ronan Clarke. "Then we found a great Brooklyn estate with 200 Doulton Toby Mugs along with their custom made cases."

Clarke will be auctioning these estates Sunday April 18th at 2:00 pm. Full onsite previews are available Friday and Saturday, April 16-17, 12:00 Noon to 6:00 pm and Sunday, April 18th, 10:00 am to Auction Start. For more details, see its website at www.ClarkeNY.com or call 914-833-8336.
