As a member of the AEP's leadership team, Joey has grown with the program for the past 6 years, acquiring increasing responsibility that has helped guide the program from a staff of 6 with 100 students to a staff of 60 with an enrollment goal of 5,500 students in 2016/2017. Joey served for 2 years as an executive board member for the Louisiana Association of Public, Community, and Adult Education (LAPCAE) and has worked with local neighborhood associations in New Orleans to launch an effort to redevelop a former church and school property into a shared incubator space for local artists and schools.
