RALEIGH, NC, January 13, 2010
/24-7PressRelease/ -- The Marketing and Leasing Team at Coleman & Associates Commercial & Investment Real Estate Services will be assisting building owners and long time friends, Tom & Jill Hendrickson (Capital Club Partners, LLC) in the marketing and leasing of the Capital Club Building. The building, located at 16 W. Martin St. on the corner of Martin and Salisbury streets is on the National Register of Historic Properties and was designed by Frank B. Simpson, architect. The Capital Club, which was formed in 1885 for "literary and social purposes" built this building in 1929 and occupied the top three floors when it first opened in 1930. This Raleigh Historic Landmark building is currently anchored by North State Bank on the top floor. The ground floor restaurant space is currently under renovation and will open in late winter 2010 as "Capital Club 16."
Eddie Coleman, CCIM, President of Coleman & Associates arranged the lease between Wolf and Capital Club Partners, LLC with the assistance of son, Win Coleman, CCIM and godson, Lucas Kinnin who directs marketing for Coleman & Associates. The 25 year old Coleman firm has a long history in the redevelopment, repositioning, marketing and management of commercial and designated Historic Properties throughout the state. "We're very excited about having the opportunity to help our long time friends continue to improve their building which has such character and history." said Coleman.
Hendrickson, who is developing Veridea, a 1,000 acre sustainable mixed use development in Apex, is happy for the assistance. "I've known Win and Lucas since they were kids riding around in the back of my boat and pick up. They grew up in Downtown Raleigh and have a good handle on the action. They're young, bright and aggressive and their offices are five minutes away," said Hendrickson. Hendrickson and the Coleman Team developed a strategy for a higher profile marketing effort to take advantage of the building's strategic location, character and office layout flexibility. In addition the group decided that a high quality casual dining restaurant with a bar and private meeting room and dining possibilities would be a great anchor and amenity.
Shortly after beginning their marketing and leasing efforts, Coleman & Associates secured a lease with their client chef, Jake Wolf. Wolf will be opening "Capital Club 16" on the ground floor of the building in late winter 2010. Jake, a CIA graduate and NYC chef, and wife Shannon are moving home to North Carolina for the new Raleigh venture. Wolf plans to offer rustic, fresh, local, Classic American cuisine with European influences he picked up during his two years working as a chef there.
A two minute walk from Wake County courthouse and the Federal Building, The Capital Club Building has long been home to small to midsized law firms who seek convenient office space with character and at affordable rents. Sitting diagonally across from the new $200 million dollar Justice Center only enhances its presence as a premiere law office location.
