In June 2000, Collicutt Energy Services Ltd. raised $23.1 million under its Initial Public Offering. The net proceeds of this offering were used to expand the Company's fabrication capacity. In August 2000 the Company's fabrication division moved into a 102,000 sq. ft. fabrication facility in Red Deer, Alberta, tripling the Company's fabrication capacity. Adjacent to this new facility, the Company constructed a 109,000 sq. ft. Manufacturing facility, which opened April 1, 2001. This facility provides additional space for manufacturing vessels and process piping, welding, painting, sand blasting, heat treatment and x-rays and provides support for the Fabrication and Service divisions of Collicutt Energy Services Ltd.
The growing demand for power by the Company's current customer base, coupled with the growing world-wide demand for power stimulated Collicutt Energy Services Ltd. to expand its product line into power generation. In 1999 the Company commenced the fabrication and service of reciprocating-driven power generators. In 2000 the Company further expanded its product line by adding turbine-driven power generators and turbine-driven compression products to the suite of products and services offered.
Strong natural gas prices and record drilling activities are expected to continue and have a sustained, positive impact on the demand for gas compression. In addition, deregulation of the power industry and the growing need for independent power has increased the demand for power generation. Collicutt Energy Services Ltd. is in an excellent position to capitalize on the anticipated growth in demand for both gas compression and power generation. The Company's growth strategy includes both an increase in products and services it offers as well as expansion within the geographic markets its serves.
