Commercial compression tool BitZipper now available for free

Bitberry Software is pleased to announce the release of BitZipper 5.0, a major update of its file compression software for Windows. It is now available for free through partnerships with Blockbuster Online, T-Online, eBay, Lancome, Diners and others.

BitZipper 5.0 introduces Windows Vista compatibility and better compression ratios by fully supporting BZIP2 compression, including WinZip's extensions to the ZIP-file format. BitZipper 5.0 also introduces support for Unicode, which means that BitZipper is among the very few compression tools that can handle archives containing e.g. asian and eastern language filenames.

Among the BitZipper customers are many WinZip refugees who are fed up with Corel's new pay-for-upgrades policy. BitZipper costs US $24.95 for a single user license, but comes with free updates to future versions. With the introduction of BitZipper 5.0, you can get a fully functional copy of BitZipper for free by signing up for a partner service or product like Blockbuster Online, eBay, Lancome Shop or Diners. In return for sending our partner a (potential) new customer, they pay us your license fee. Read more at http://www.bitzipper.com/free.html.

It is no secret that demand for file compression software has been decreasing in recent years, mainly due to the widespread use of high speed Internet connections and ZIP support built into newer Windows versions. However, BitZipper has not been hit by the declining market, primarily due to it's support for strong AES encryption, full WinZip compatibility and support for other popular archive formats like RAR (full compatibility) and various Unix- and other exotic compression formats.

With BitZipper, working with compressed files is as easy as working with your web browser or word processor. BitZipper's innovative interface includes a tabbed application window and a folder tree for quick navigation.

BitZipper 5.0 runs under Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/2003/XP/Vista, costs $24.95(US) for a single-user license with free future updates, and may be purchased securely online at http://www.bitzipper.com. Multi-user and site licenses are available. You can download a free, fully-functional 30-day trial version of BitZipper from the same Internet address.

BitZipper is available in English, German, French and Danish.
