Commercial Real Estate Women - SF Chapter Elects 2010 President
Catherine House of CB Richard Ellis to Guide Organization in the Coming Year.

    SAN FRANCISCO, CA, January 08, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Catherine House CCIM, FRICS, an investment broker in the San Francisco office of CB Richard Ellis, was elected president of Commercial Real Estate Women - San Francisco (CREW-SF). House succeeds Dena Cruz, senior counsel with Holme Roberts & Owen, LLP. Kim Havens, project manager at Wilson Meany Sullivan will serve as president-elect. As president, House will work closely with the board of directors to further elevate the organization's position within the commercial real estate industry while continuing to provide existing and potential members with valuable educational and professional development resources and programs.
"As president, it is my goal to capitalize on the tremendous work of our members to further the progress of CREW-SF while providing them with the resources, support and network needed to succeed in these difficult times," said House. "Through our numerous networking initiatives, it is our hope that members will continue to see new business generated and employment opportunities as a direct result of their involvement with our organization. Furthermore, we plan to continue to offer our sponsors opportunities so they can expand their visibility and increase their market share through ongoing collaboration with our chapter."
This year, the CREW-SF chapter will be hosting the CREW Network's Annual Convention in San Francisco, October 20-22, 2010. The organization will also continue to provide prospective and existing members with programs, events and other resources to facilitate new business generation, employment opportunities and community outreach, including monthly luncheon programs at the City Club, the annual golf -event, educational brown bags and the U-CREW university initiative, as well as the quarterly magazine, "The View."
House will lead an outstanding board of directors comprised of some of the commercial real estate industry's top professional women. They include the following individuals: Kim Havens, Wilson Meany Sullivan; Dena Cruz, Holme Roberts & Owen; Jean Bertrand, Schiff Hardin; Valerie Concello, Ronin Commercial Real Estate; and Elizabeth Puccinelli, Syufy Enterprises. Incoming board members include: Helen Duong, Boston Properties; Sylvia Kwan, Kwan Henmi Architects; Nancy Lundeen, Allen Matkins; and Kristin Paul, Buchanan Street Partners.
As president, House will be responsible for leading the chapter's board of directors in achieving the goals of the organization's long-term strategic plan, which includes expanding members' professional, leadership and personal success by participation in CREW-SF and CREW Network (more than 8,000 people nationwide); San Francisco commercial real estate companies achieving enhanced financial success through the greater involvement of women in their workforce and partnership with CREW-SF; and further developing the resources needed to achieve all of the chapter's goals and objectives.
House has been a member of CREW-SF for more than five years. As part of the Private Client Group at CB Richard Ellis, House specializes in selling land and commercial buildings below $20 million in Marin and San Francisco counties. Most recently, she has assisted local, regional and multinational banks by providing market intelligence and restructuring services, including disposition services. Active in the business and real estate communities, House is a director of the San Francisco British American Business Council; a Fellow and the Northern California representative of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS); a member of the Urban Land Institute; a member of the Belden Club; and a member of SPUR. She is a CCIM designee and a licensed California real estate broker.
CREW-SF (www.crewsf.org) founded in 1984 provides a meeting place for professional women in diverse commercial real estate specialties, and promotes the influence and success of its members through professional and business development, educational programs, and the ongoing exchange of information. The members of CREW-SF are a well-educated, experienced group of real estate professionals.
