    /24-7PressRelease/ - FORT WORTH, TX, June 17, 2006 - CrimeWeb is helping law enforcement agencies and citizens connect by providing web-based crime and public safety alerts via email, text messaging, and even by phone.

The CrimeWeb.Net site provides six basic components or types of information to subscribers;

1. Missing Child Alerts
2. Missing Adult Alerts
3. Major Crime Alerts
4. Homeland Security Alerts
5. School Information Alerts
6. Community Information Alerts

the information regarding each type of alert is entered into the CrimeWeb.Net site by a public safety agency using either a workstation or a mobile computer.

Citizens can sign-up for free and receive the type of alert that interests them. What's unique about CrimeWeb.Net is that it uses a patented zip code technology to allow a subscribing agency to distribute alerts anywhere in the country. Alerts can be sent to citizen subscribers in specific zip codes, up to 99 miles around a specific zip code or to all registered users located geographically between two zip codes.

Arlington PD and 24 other police departments in DFW use the CrimeWeb system to distribute alerts regarding public safety related. They issue a variety of alerts from murders offering rewards, to safety belt enforcement programs.

Not only does this system help law enforcement connect with the communities it serves, but it may be particularly of value to children who wish to monitor the crime incidents of the community in which their elderly parents reside, or to parents who wish to be made aware of incidents that occur on a college campus their child may be attending.

About CrimeWeb Network

Conceptualized by a law enforcement official, Crime Web is a unique web-based clearinghouse designed to improve the efficient exchange of information from police departments to news media and citizens. The site is designed to empower safety across America.
