Affordable Food Network is a wholesale distribution company located in Beaumont, TX. The company specializes in selling quality meat and seafood at low costs. The company lies between the border of Louisiana and the Seaport of Houston, just off the Gulf Coast of Texas. "Location is important to our company being competitive with seafood and meat pricing," says Yolanda Sumlin, CFO of the company. The company was formed two months ago and currently has a customer base nationwide of approximately 5 thousand. The average cost of a Cajun meal like crawfish etoufee with our meat and seafood can serve a family of five for less than $2.00 per meal. Other dishes like red beans and rice, fried chicken and catfish can easily run about $22.00 to feed a family of five at a local fast food restaurant. Many of these same dishes can be prepared at home for less than half the cost. Just by a family purchasing their own meat and seafood a family of five can eat for less than $1.50 a meal and have food left over for another meal. "It doesn't take an Economist to figure this out," says Jay Sumlin.
