STAMFORD, CT, October 09, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Connec-to-Talk, a leading private practice in the speech, occupational, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy fields founded in Wilton, CT, announces the opening of their Stamford location with a special presentation by Ellen Fittro, M.S., BCBA., an authority in the development of individualized skill acquisition plans and behavior intervention plans for children with special needs.

The Wilton office of Connec-to-Talk has been servicing clients since 2003, and the new Stamford office is a natural extension for the company. "We work very closely with a number of clients who have been referred to us by The McCarton Center in New York, so our Stamford office provides the proximity that children in New York City and Westchester County need," said Nika S. Williams-Arbelo, M.S., CCC-SLP Managing Partner/Co-Founder of Connec-to-Talk.

The topic of Fittro's presentation will be "Pivotal Response Treatment", which is a child-directed behavioral intervention model based on the principles of ABA. The goal of PRT, as defined by AutismSpeaks.org, is to produce positive changes in pivotal behaviors, leading to improvement in communication skills, play skills, social behaviors and the child's ability to monitor his own behavior. The PRT method, which originated in California, has been very popular and successful with children, and is utilized in Connec-to-Talk's Connecticut practice. The lecture will focus on therapy, benefits of proper response, and case studies/testimonials about the treatment.

"We are excited to have Ms. Fittro address physicians, parents and caretakers on a subject that is so vital to on-going therapy for children who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder," said Jennifer Naughton Basch, M.S., CCC-SLP.

This educational presentation will take place on Thursday, October 20th from 7:30-9:00pm at Connec-to-Talk's Stamford office, located at 1011 High Ridge Road, 2nd floor. Light refreshments will be served. Please R.S.V.P. to info@connec-to-talk.com.
