/24-7PressRelease/ - LONDON, UK, August 26, 2006 - Addressing the party's first-time buyer summit in central London, Conservative leader Mr. David Cameron advocates for a housing revolution to help first time buyers to own a house with less difficulties. He also voiced an alteration in the planning rules to increase shared ownership to make new homes affordable to first time buyers.

The UK Conservative leader David Cameron had urged for a review of planning rules and moves to increase shared ownership that could also include a new scheme similar to the controversial right-to-buy-property policy adopted by Margaret Thatcher.

He supported his views by adding that that way they could create a whole new generation of homeowners. He also called for a planned revolution that would give communities new freedom to acquire the houses they want.

He asked the local councils to put more money into the shared ownership and further called for an extension of the government's HomeBuy and Social Homebuy schemes. He showed his concern by saying that they could see the social mobility going back in the country and that was something that the politician could do about.

The latest property market boom had shattered many first time buyers' aspirations of buying a house that became unaffordable for the typical first time buyer as reported by the Halifax National House Price index Report.

The estimated number of first time buyers had touched the lowest figure of 320,000 since 1980.
