/24-7PressRelease/ -- The 2010 Safety Expo, an annual conference dedicated to bringing California's construction industry the latest education and training on safety and construction management, will be held Mar. 30 - Apr. 1 at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento. Presented by the Construction Industry Education Foundation (CIEF) in partnership with the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange, the event will feature more than 140 sessions and is open to all in the construction industry profession.
In its sixth consecutive year, the Safety Expo is dedicated to providing safety/health education, training and resources. The Expo provides a unique platform for professionals to gather and share information and assistance beyond the building and construction trades to other industry segments: municipalities, water and waste utilities, and other entities that require safety-related training.
"Training and education is a fundamental cornerstone to any successful organization; however, we understand that during periods of economic decline, employers are challenged to maintain existing training levels while coping with shrinking budgets," said Nick Cloud, safety director for McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.'s Northern Pacific Division and Safety Expo council member. "The Safety Expo provides employers with an exceptional three-day forum of quality classes at an affordable price. When compared to other providers, a company can send three employees to the Expo for the same cost as sending one person to a conventional training seminar."
Sessions featured in the three-day event will address the following education tracks: compliance certification, construction safety and management, green building and welding, amongst others. Additionally, Expo partner Public Equipment Managers Association will lead seminars on mechanical/technical training. The event will include an industry trade show, complimentary to all Expo attendees.
The Safety Expo will also feature a special VIP Forum, "You Can't Plan for a Crisis While You're Having One," presented by Marv Rockford and Steve Gray, principals with Rockford Gray, who specialize in crisis management. The forum will be held in conjunction with the Expo event on Wednesday, March 31 for an additional fee. This session requires advance registration and will be geared towards senior executives and project managers who are typically at the forefront in a crisis situation.
