/24-7PressRelease/ - LONDON, UK, June 10, 2006 - Consumer credit like credit cards, secured loans, unsecured loans have risen by 300 million in April. This growth is according to the latest figures issued by the British Bankers' Association (BBA). The robust growth is followed by a fall of around 400m in the last month.
According to Nick Verdi of Barclays Capital, the figure suggests that the Bank of England's lending to individual consumer's figures should show around 900m rise in April, a significant rise from the 300m recorded in the month of March.
According to Verdi "If that's right, it would suggest March's relatively weak out-turn was a blip,"
Lending on credit card has increased by 277m in the month of April. The average increase was 100m a month in the last six months
