Cornelius Nursery Hosts Gardenfest, A Day-long Gardening event in Houston

    FORT WORTH, TX, February 09, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cornelius Nursery will equip gardeners with information for a successful gardening season this year at Gardenfest on Feb. 18, 2012. Gardenfest is a full day of educational gardening presentations from local and national industry experts that is free to the gardening public held at both Cornelius Nursery locations on Dairy Ashford and Voss Road.

During this day-long event, local gardening expert Randy Lemmon, will be at the Dairy Ashford location at 1:30 to share his insights on the gardening industry. Faith Savage, a flower expert from Syngenta, will discuss the meaning of color and how it can impact guests and home gardens. Edible gardening experts, Frank Trevino and Christine Higginbotham, of Blue Label Herbs will show gardeners how to spice up their life with herb gardening tips on the specific varieties that perform well in Texas. Richard Cartwright of Ran-Pro Farms, who also specializes in edible gardening, will give tips on growing the juiciest fruit trees, grapes and berries. Rand Hopkins of Monrovia Growers will present information on new and improved plant choices for the Texas garden.

Last year, Gardenfest was held in the Dallas and Fort Worth areas by Cornelius Nursery's parent company, Calloway's
Nursery, Inc. Because of the event's success, it was expanded to include the Houston market for 2012.
