Ms. Charlton founded her corporate finance law firm in 1998

Ms. Charlton established Charltons 15 years ago as a focused corporate finance solicitors firm advising on Hong Kong law

HONG KONG, CHINA, March 21, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ --Charltons Partner Julia Charlton has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in Corporate Finance Law. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.

Ms. Charlton established Charltons 15 years ago as a focused corporate finance solicitors firm advising on Hong Kong law, drawing on her extensive experience in China-related legal services. Charltons has been helping companies achieve their business objectives through a strategic practical approach ever since. Ms Charlton, the founding and managing partner with a background in IPOs and raising capital, has significant experience with mergers and acquisitions, working with investment banks, and advising on regulatory issues. In addition to managing the direction of the organisation's growth, she is responsible for the oversight of projects related to capital markets, corporate restructuring, corporate finance, securities and private investments.

Julia has always aimed high and realised that the key to her success was in part a solid education. After earning an LL.B with first class honours, from King's College, London in 1981, Julia worked for a "magic circle" law firm in London before moving to Hong Kong in 1987. She started her own firm in 1998, which has expanded to include representative offices in Shanghai and Beijing, and this year has opened an office in Myanmar. With hard work and what she describes as "a little bit of luck," she and her team of talented, experienced lawyers have helped contribute to the economic evolution of modern China.

Recently inducted into Worldwide Branding, Ms. Charlton is also a member of the Law Society of Hong Kong, the listing committee of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the Takeovers Panel and the Takeovers Appeal Panel of the Securities and Futures Commission, as well as a fellow of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute. She was recognized as a woman of influence and Professional of the Year by the American Chamber of Commerce in 2008.
