/24-7PressRelease/ -- At the IJmuiden Direct Sheet Plant, Corus has been measuring the edge profile of the continuous slab at the exit of the caster. The purpose of the measurements is to optimize the settings of the caster to eliminate the risk of break-out from still molten core. After a few months of tests, Corus has now decided to permanently install the equipment.
"The measurement of the slab edge profile is a perfect application for our system," says Shapeline CEO, Pär Kierkegaard, PhD. "We are able to cope with the tough environment at the caster and we have long term references to certify our capability in meeting varying customer requirements and the usability of our technology."
