A six-speed automatic transmission is standard with the V-6 and will be available later in the model year, with the 2.4L four-cylinder LTZ - segmented first. The Malibu Hybrid uses a unique electric motor/generator mated to a 2.4L Ecotec VVT four-cylinder engine, and Hydra-Matic 4T45 four-speed transmission.
