Coyote Point's UK distributor, ipcortex, have announced the release of the Equalizer Express card to the UK market. Building upon the benefits already provided by the powerful Equalizer load balancing range, Express uses 1Gbps compression accelerator technology to reduce download times, server response times, and to reduce bandwidth costs - leading to an increase in end user satisfaction.
Express solves the problem posed by ever more sophisticated web site design and implementation, growing web page size, encryption and increased TCP/IP processing times. This strain on the network is also bolstered by the use of dynamically generated content - for which compression is the best solution.
Express also frees Equalizer's CPU to concentrate on its primary tasks by offloading HTTP/HTTPS compression the two dedicated compression engines on each PCI-X card. Distributing the load evenly between the two engines, Express compresses web pages using HTML, JavaScript, CSS and other text-based languages by 2-6 times. Not only does Express expedite the download of content, it can also reduce bandwidth costs by reducing the total volume of data transmitted. With less data to transmit, the demands of processing TCP/IP are reduced, saving potentially expensive CPU cycles - a significant issue in high traffic situations.
